Happy Valentines Day from the Front Porch!
As you can see the Front Porch got a new look for Valentines day. I have had this fabulous fabric in my stash for quite some time but just hadn't found the perfect pattern to compliment it. Then I found the Buggy Barn Crazy Heart pattern and knew it would be perfect! The fabric is called "First Crush" by Sweetwater for Moda.

Such cute fabric to work with and, because it's so busy, the Crazy Heart pattern is perfect. I had a layer cake so I had to adjust the pattern a little to use the 10" squares. I love these blocks, they are very forgiving!
Once the piano keys were added for the border, it was ready to quilt! I wanted something with hearts and a dense all-over pattern but I didn't have anything that I had used before so I did what I always do in this situation--grabbed a pencil and paper and began to doodle!
I love how it turned out! I started with a little heart, then echoed around it. Then a second heart, and echoed again. The hardest part is getting started because the bottoms of the first few hearts seem to clump together. But once you get going it is easy to arrange the hearts in different directions and you really can't tell where you started. This is an easy pattern to move from place to place because you just echo until you reach where you want to be.
I love how the hearts look even in the sashing. I think this will be one of my new favorite free motion quilting patterns.
I'm starting to believe: if you can doodle it--you can quilt it! Here's proof!
I had some extra fabric so I whipped together a cute little table runner as well.

I hope you've enjoyed this adorable little quilt as much as I do! I think it's probably one of my favorites, at least for this month! And of course, it's perfect for the Front Porch!
Thanks for letting me share my Crazy Hearts quilt. And, as always, thanks for stopping by the Front Porch, come back soon!
